8 Sail Brewery held a Sausage and Beer Festival weekend recently. 10 of the brewery's own beers were on, including a new ale - Dark Side of the Mill, a 4.5% dark, malty ale with chilli and hints of chocolate, which seemed to go down well with the aficionados, as did the 6 guest beers. Two of the guest ales - from Scottish breweries Broughton, and Traquair House were transported down by one of 8 Sail's regulars, who hails from Leicester.

Cider drinkers were not left out with Churchill Ciders of Spalding with their Fenland Gold (6.5%), Celtic Marches of Herefordshire, Thundering Molly (6%) and Skidbrooke Cider of Louth, Captain Cobbler (5.2%).

The weather stayed mainly dry and imbibers were entertained throughout the weekend by Unstuck, Strings & Things (Jazz), and Revolver.

A good time was had by all.
