Over the late August Bank Holiday, Sleaford Cricket Club held their first beer festival, and Fenland members went to support the event. Twelve beers were on offer, together with two ciders. A couple of heavy showers failed to spoil the afternoon, with Sleaford 2nd XI winning against Orton Park.

On Monday, a couple of members attended and watched the Sunday 1st XI play Woodhall Spa, and again win. Four of the beers ran out, but their absence was made up for by an excellent selection of cakes sold for donations to the breast cancer charity.

Following its success, the Cricket Club intend to hold another beer festival next year.
