Nottingham Beer Festival 2024

Trent Bridge One of the bars

Camra members were allowed free entry on the Wednesday afternoon to the Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, held once again at Trent Bridge CC ground. So at least one member of Fenland Branch took advantage, travelling by train and bus. After collecting his half pint mug and purchasing tokens he made his way to the nearest of many bars to sample a selection of mild and porter beers before sitting in the stands overlooking the cricket pitch.

Around 500 beers were available with a further 140 being put on the stillages when room allowed. There were 3 large Camra bars along with numerous brewery bars dotted around the Trent Bridge ground and under marquees and imbibers were allowed access to main buildings such as the members rooms and suites.  To complete the scene Robin, in full outlaw outfit, once again mingled with the ale drinkers. There was a special treat (for one afternoon only) with Burtonbridge Brewery providing free samples of their Burton Ale along with 2 other beers of their's.

After returning to the railway station there was just time to call in at the Nottingham station micro pub for a swift half of London Stout.
