A small, but perfectly formed, group of Fenland members set off from Heckington Windmill on their first airing of 2025.

Following minor road footpaths and lanes, including the remarkable Fishpond Lane and Buggsy Wells path, they paused to observe the large playing fields, tennis club grass courts, ponds, and outdoor swimming pool. The trekkers also came across the impressive Heckington Manor (now undergoing major restoration) and were able to chat to the new owners about progress and their plans.

Crossing the fields used for the Show weekend a speedy return to the Tea Rooms for eats and a hasty trip to the 8 Sail Brewery Bar, where tasty pints of Ploughmans Lunch, Froglet, and Fen Slodger were eagerly consumed.
