Community Group trying to save the Red Lion, Gedney Hill
Thursday 4 February 2016
A group is hoping to raise the money to purchase their closed local public house, mostly via a Community Share Offer.
They only have until early April to find about £160K out of the required £180K that is needed to secure the Freehold – otherwise it’s likely that the site will be sold to a property developer to turn into housing.
The vision is to eventually see the building reopened as a community owned and run, traditional country pub serving at least one real ale, and possibly incorporating other local services.
Their campaign website is http://www.redliongedneyhill.co.uk/index.html
Although just outside the Fenland Branch area, I am sure they would welcome any support branch members can give.
